Unit 10: Personal & Professional Development
CV:
My CV information for potential University application which includes details of address & means of contact, my previous experiences in a working environment, a personal profile explaining my history & interests focused around animation but can be reworked to cover my interest in photography, My Accolades and awards are included so is the information on my hobbies and personal goals. The second page covers my grades from across my time in education spanning over six years.
My CV was made to act like a pamphlet or leaflet giving it a quirky quality while also remaining clear and presentable, It was made entirely in Microsoft word where it proved itself tricky to create due to the flaws, limitations and lack of flexibility in MS Word made the production process time consuming and highly frustrating.

Creative CV's:
A CV can be an opportunity to get one's personality across as well as demonstrate one's skills
examples;
Personal design Ideas for a theme or aesthetic for a creative CV
using MS paint to brainstorm Ideas (using an old PC) |
one of my sketch up Ideas for a CV I also used the draft design to create a few Key features to keep in mind when making a final CV |
Final Design
The final design was created as an interactive pamphlet & image portfolio which primarily Uses my personal photographs as the artistic detail while also maintaining a cold colour tempreture theme throughout the images and in the use of text colour. Available space or real estate was tricky to manage however a final aesthetically pleasing layout was achieved.
UCAS Application process:
If or when I decide to go to a University to study I would have to register myself with UCAS so I could apply to Universities that support a course which I'm passionate in taking.
My current plan does not consider going to uni for at least a year with my current course of action to look into preparing myself for some form of employment and creating a portfolio of work which would compliment me and my ambitions.
Courses & University's:
Since I would like to go into the stop motion and animation industry I looked into Universities that provided courses that offered me the opportunity to learn the skills and gain the links to help achieve my future ambitions.

Gap year/ Future preparation & foundation Plan:
My Gap Year Plan:
Over the first six to eight months after the end of my college course I will have short term in place objectives to progress my skills in Animation by learning & self teaching in mixed arts, the use of computer software including Photoshop and Dragon frame. During this time I will also be creating a video portfolio of animation work and case studies as evidence of my progression and commitment to the craft of stop-motion animation and photography, I plan to use this to assist in my long term plan of gaining involvement in the British animation industry. I would need to create over 30 min of high quality animation or usable footage as a benchmark to achieve my ambitions in animation, I would also need to create a number of animated short features to prove myself as capable of doing things beyond simple exercises in stop motion animation.

One thing I should improve on is to pipe up and ask questions, If I need to ask something ASK. I also need to think what I should ask, for instance show willingness to help and work, this may have been for one day but I could have asked if I could have helped out on the next day or the day of the shoot, Jump at the opportunity to prove your worth and capable.

Final personal statement + Lecture feedback:
Lecturer Alan assisted personal statement:
Clifford J Bancroft
I am Currently 19 years of age and studying on a full time photography course to qualify for university, while I enjoy photography immensely I have found in 18 months myself being drawn back to animation. both animation and photograph fulfils my artistic nature but I feel that the animation process is more suitable to my nature, consequently I am currently looking to pursue animation courses at universities.
Presently I live at home with my parents however my independence at home is of importance to me and as such I lead a very individual lifestyle .
I have a very inquisitive nature, consequently my reflections can give me a better understanding of processes and their nuances before I complete them.
I am very interested in gaming and animation culture and I am in contact with people worldwide with other animators.
I have previously worked as an apprentice at the Clifton Photographic Company, among the things I learnt were, software skills, I learnt to work as a part of a team, I learnt lighting techniques, posing and composition studio techniques, post production, and a general understanding of the business process. I enjoyed my time at Clifton Photographic, and that is what gave me the impetus to take a full time photography course.
My hobbies are Reading for research, watching films of most genres, my web time in spent looking at creative channels & online documentary, I listen mainly to film & media soundtracks but I do also listen to other genres.
my short term ambitions are to complete my full time photography course & finish with good grade, while also developing a competent level of competence in my understanding of animation and ability to draw and move into the field of animation.
My long term ambitions are more difficult to pin down but ultimately I would like financially self sufficient fed from the field of art.

EVALUATION
My primary focus for my future is using a gap year to experiment and hone the skills One would need to know to pursue a career in stop motion animation and photography, along with these skills I plan to develop an extensive portfolio which demonstrates an advanced knowledge of animation & photography while also creating evidence of my practical skills. With this portfolio I hope that I can either find an animation Apprenticeship, start my own business in some for or another & when I have the finances I would advise myself on going to a University Like UWE bower ashton & Staffs Uni so I can get professional guidance & mentorship while also getting some links and access points into the animation industry.

Pictures of me for use in a CV:
Understanding the fundamentals of each and every form of animation must be documented in your own newly specialised blog ... Through this you will also demonstrate an understanding of Fine Arts & Photography ... this portfolio will be for showing to an employers so should be planned out in full with care before starting. From August to dec 2017 you must have a plan & timeline with regular practical & theory work ... work on per month minimums & per month targets ... in both work by page & quality & time spent animating + number of seconds animated ... Do Research for existing courses and post graduates to gage what would be expected skill, practical & theory wise from an animator ... Prepare for pain for you must commit to your future ... I must also includ an analysis of the animation & staff of existing studios!
